We aim to maximise regeneration and community involvement in all our projects. To unlock these local opportunities we work with our supply chain partners to maximise employment and business opportunities for local people and companies.
We set targets for local employment and apprentice opportunities wherever possible and work with our supply chain to achieve these targets and monitor levels of local employment.
Notable successes include:
- Between 75% and 85% local labour achieved during the construction period of the Oldham Integrated Care Centre, Chadderton Wellbeing Centre and Royton Health and Well being Centre (based on industry norm definition of local).
- On The Flowers Health Centre project in Sheffield we worked closely with Mansell Construction to support local companies in the area and 78% of the supply chain was sourced from within 40 miles of the construction site. The total value of orders placed with these companies totalled £1.4m and 97% of the supply chain members used were small to medium enterprise companies.
