Following 12 months of fundraising for our 2023 charities – Andy’s Man Club and Motor Neurone Disease Association, we are looking forward to being able to organise and take part in some exciting fundraising events during 2024 for our new charities of the year.
We are delighted to announce that following a staff vote, we will be supporting two charities during 2024 and they are – Alzheimer’s Society and Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home.
Alzheimer’s Society – At Alzheimer’s Society they are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future. As a Society, they are made up of people with dementia, carers, trusted experts, campaigners, researchers and clinicians. They are the UK’s largest collective force of people with unparalleled knowledge and over 40 years of experience addressing the biggest challenges facing people living with dementia.
Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home – Manchester & District Home for Lost Dogs was founded in 1893 by a group of Manchester Businessmen who were concerned about the large number of stray dogs roaming the City.
In 1999 they purchased a former run down boarding kennels, this has become the flagship of the two homes and a Centre of Excellence. The site is 11.5 acres in total with a Specialist Care Unit for dogs that provides intense care for the dogs that need it the most, pregnant dogs, nursing mums and dogs that do not adjust well to the traditional kennel environment at Manchester Dogs’ Home.
We look forward to seeing what challenges our staff decide to take part in for local charities, which make such an impact in the communities we work in.
